Why is my Pressure Gauge pegged at the maximum reading even though everything is wired correctly?Updated 2 hours ago
GlowShift Pressure Gauges are designed to peg at the maximum pressure reading when there is a communication issue between the gauge and pressure sensor. This can occur if the sensor is disconnected, the sensor harness is damaged, or the sensor has failed.
The most common cause is an issue with the sensor wiring, harness, or pressure sensor. We recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
Inspect the entire sensor harness from the back of the gauge to the sensor for cuts, kinks, burns, loose connections, or other damage.
Disconnect the harness from the sensor and slowly reconnect it, making sure the connection is secure.
If you have a 3-Pin Pressure Sensor, check the orange seal where the three wires enter the sensor connector. Using a small screwdriver, gently pull the seal down to ensure there is no trapped air between the connector and sensor.
3-Pin Pressure Sensor Test
The 3-Pin Pressure Sensor should not be tested for resistance. Instead, follow the appropriate 3-Pin Pressure Sensor Testing Procedure to verify the sensor's output signal and operation.

2-Post Pressure Sensor Test
If your gauge uses a 2-Post Pressure Sensor, you can test the sensor by checking its resistance output.
Remove both wires from the pressure sensor.
Set your multimeter to the 200-ohm scale.
With the vehicle OFF, measure the resistance across the two posts on the sensor and record the reading.
With the vehicle idling, measure the resistance across the two posts again and record the reading.
While the vehicle is idling, apply a load to the engine by varying the RPM with the throttle and observe how the resistance changes.
Record the resistance as the engine RPM changes.
