To test the resistance of your Transmission, Oil, or Water Temperature Sensor, you will need a digital multimeter. Set the multimeter to the 20,000-ohm scale and follow these steps:

1. Place the red multimeter lead on the white wire of the temperature sensor.

2. Place the black multimeter lead on the black wire.

3. Take and record a resistance reading with the sensor cold.

4. Heat the sensor and take a second resistance reading once the sensor is heated up.

Please record both the cold and heated resistance readings. These readings can help determine whether the temperature sensor is functioning properly.
