If you are installing a Fuel Pressure Sensor on a Cummins diesel application, a 1/8"-27 NPT Snubber Valve is required to help protect the sensor from high-pressure spikes that can occur during engine startup. The Snubber Valve regulates and reduces these pressure spikes before they reach the sensor, helping prevent premature sensor failure. It should be installed between the fuel system pressure port and the Fuel Pressure Sensor.
Depending on your Cummins engine, a Banjo Bolt Adapter may also be needed to provide a convenient connection point for the Snubber Valve and Fuel Pressure Sensor. GlowShift also offers Banjo Bolt and Snubber Valve Combo Kits, which combine the necessary components for a simpler installation.
12 Valve Cummins (1994–1998 Dodge Ram): The Banjo Bolt Adapter replaces the factory banjo bolt and provides access directly at the P7100 injection pump. It features an M14 x 1.5 male thread and a 1/8"-27 NPT female port for the Snubber Valve and/or Fuel Pressure Sensor. Two 14mm crush washers are included. Torque to 18 ft-lbs.
24 Valve Cummins (1994.5–2010 Dodge Ram): The Banjo Bolt Adapter replaces the factory banjo bolt at the fuel filter housing and provides a connection point for the Snubber Valve and Fuel Pressure Sensor. It features an M12 x 1.5 thread and includes two 0.46" diameter washers.
